Community Guidelines
Last updated: June 8, 2026
Fledge is a dating app designed to help adults build meaningful connections based on psychological compatibility. To keep Fledge safe, respectful and lawful, everyone who uses Fledge must follow these Community Guidelines.
These Guidelines apply to everything you do on Fledge – your profile, photos, tests, prompts, messages, reports and any other content you share (“Content”). They work together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Safety / Safe Dating Tips, Criminal Background and Identity Checks Notice and other notices.
By using Fledge, you agree to comply with these Community Guidelines.
1. Who Can Use Fledge
1.1. Age (18+ only)
- Fledge is strictly for adults 18 years of age or older.
- You must not create an account or use Fledge if you are under 18.
- If we believe you are under 18, or using Fledge on behalf of a minor, we will remove your account and may take steps (for example, device or technical blocks) to prevent re-registration.
1.2. One person – one account
- Your account is personal. Do not share it with others or allow anyone else to use Fledge as if they were you.
- Do not create multiple accounts to evade restrictions, bans or to mislead other users.
1.3. Compliance with laws
- You may use Fledge only where it is legally permitted and only for lawful purposes.
- You are responsible for following U.S. federal, state and local laws, as well as any laws of the place from which you access Fledge.
- You must not use Fledge for prostitution, trafficking, fraud, harassment, stalking or any other illegal activity (see more below).
2. Our Core Principles
Fledge’s expectations align with the common standards of major dating apps: authenticity, respect, inclusivity and safety.
We expect you to:
- Be yourself – represent who you are truthfully.
- Respect others – do not abuse, exploit or harm people.
- Keep it safe – do not put others at physical, sexual, emotional or financial risk.
- Follow the rules on and off the app – especially when interacting with people you met on Fledge.
3. Authenticity: Real People, Honest Profiles
3.1. Real identity and inauthentic profiles
You must:
- Use your own photos and truthful information about yourself.
You must not:
- Impersonate any person or entity, including celebrities, influencers, public figures, friends, ex-partners or strangers.
- Use someone else’s photos or personal information without their consent.
- Create fake or “joke” profiles for experiments, harassment, spying or social games.
- Use stolen, stock or AI-generated faces while pretending they are you.
We may remove or restrict profiles that appear inauthentic or deceptive.
3.2. Photos and media
Not allowed:
- Explicit nudity or sexual acts.
- Images of minors (anyone under 18) in sexual, suggestive or inappropriate contexts.
- Content that glorifies hate, violence or discrimination (for example, hate symbols, violent scenes).
- Images showing illegal drug use, clear illegal drug transactions, or illegal weapons.
- AI-generated, AI-modified, or "deepfake" images, videos or audio used to mislead others about your real appearance, voice, or identity, including any such content that depicts another real person (such as a celebrity, ex-partner, or stranger) without their explicit consent. The use of AI chatbots, scripted scripts, or other automated tools to impersonate a real human user in conversations is also strictly prohibited.
Allowed:
- Normal photos where your appearance is reasonably clear.
- Moderate filters and retouching that do not change your identity.
- Photos with other people if you have their consent and you remain the main subject.
Fledge may decline or remove photos that do not meet these standards or that we consider unsafe or misleading.
4. Respectful Communication & Consent
4.1. Respectful interactions
You must:
- Communicate politely and without abusive language.
- Respect different backgrounds, experiences and identities.
- Stop contacting someone if they say “no”, indicate they are not interested, unmatch you, block you or otherwise ask you to stop.
You must not:
- Insult, mock or degrade people based on appearance, body, age, nationality, religion, orientation or other personal traits.
- Use slurs, demeaning language or targeted intimidation.
4.2. Harassment and stalking
Not allowed:
- Repeated messaging after someone makes it clear they do not want to talk to you.
- Harassing or stalking someone, including repeatedly creating new accounts to contact them after being blocked.
- Pressuring, intimidating or blackmailing someone (for example, threatening to leak private messages or photos).
4.3. Sexual content and consent
You must not:
- Send unsolicited sexual content (including explicit photos or videos) to anyone who has not clearly agreed to receive it.
- Pressure, manipulate or coerce anyone into sending intimate photos or meeting offline.
- Ignore or override someone’s boundaries after they have expressed discomfort or refusal.
Any sexual or intimate communication must be based on freely given, informed, revocable consent.
5. Minors, Child Sexual Abuse & Protection
5.1. No minors, ever
Fledge does not allow:
- Accounts for anyone under 18.
- Any attempts to find, date, sexualize or exploit minors.
- Content that implies or suggests a sexual interest in minors.
If we believe a user is under 18 or involved in activity involving minors, we will:
- Remove the content and close the account; and
- In serious cases, consider contacting law enforcement or relevant agencies where permitted or required by law.
5.2. Child sexual abuse material
We have zero tolerance for any form of child sexual abuse material.
- Any content involving sexual exploitation of minors will be removed.
- Accounts associated with such content will be permanently banned.
- We may preserve and report relevant information to law enforcement or child protection organizations, in line with applicable laws.
6. Escort Services, “Sugar Dating” and Sexual Exploitation
Fledge is not a platform for escort services, prostitution, “sugar dating” or any other form of commercial sexual services.
You must not:
- Offer or request sexual services in exchange for money, gifts, payment of bills, accommodation or any other benefits.
- Advertise escort services, brothels, “sugar arrangements” or similar schemes.
- Use Fledge to recruit clients or partners for paid sexual activities.
- Post external links, usernames or contact details that are primarily intended to promote escort or prostitution services.
We apply zero tolerance to such conduct:
- Accounts involved in escort/prostitution activities may be permanently banned without notice.
- We may apply device or technical blocks to prevent re-registration.
- In serious cases, we may consider cooperating with law enforcement where required or permitted by law.
7. Fraud, Romance Scams and Money Requests
Fledge is not a place to ask strangers for money or to promote financial schemes.
7.1. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Use romantic or emotional stories to pressure or trick people into sending money, gifts or anything of value.
- Invent urgent emergencies (medical crises, visa issues, customs problems, detentions, business disasters) to obtain money or financial support.
- Offer “investment opportunities”, trading schemes or other financial products through Fledge, especially with “guaranteed” returns.
- Ask for or attempt to obtain bank account details, card numbers, PIN codes, one-time passwords, login credentials, crypto wallet seeds or other sensitive financial data.
- Send phishing links or fake payment pages.
7.2. What you should do as a user
If someone:
- asks you for money, gift cards, crypto, or financial help;
- pushes you into “investment” or “business” deals;
- insists on moving the conversation off-platform while avoiding normal, safe interaction (such as video chat or local meetings in safe, public places);
then:
- Do not send money, do not share financial details.
- Stop communicating and report the profile using the in-app “Scam / Fraud / Money Request” category.
Confirmed romance or financial scam behavior will lead to permanent account bans.
8. Hate, Violence and Dangerous Content
8.1. Hate speech
You must not:
- Attack, insult or dehumanize people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious illness or other protected or sensitive characteristics.
- Promote or encourage discrimination, segregation or exclusion of any group.
- Support, praise or promote extremist, terrorist or hate organizations.
8.2. Threats and violence
You must not:
- Threaten physical or sexual violence against any person or group.
- Glorify, romanticize or encourage violence, including domestic or intimate partner violence.
- Share content that depicts real-world violence, serious injury or gore for shock, entertainment or intimidation.
Where there is a credible threat to someone’s life or safety, we may consider appropriate steps, including contacting law enforcement, in line with applicable law.
9. Illegal Activities and Dangerous Goods
You may not use Fledge to:
- Buy, sell, promote or distribute illegal drugs, firearms or other illegal goods.
- Plan, coordinate or promote criminal activity (including fraud, hacking, identity theft, money laundering).
- Share malware, malicious links or content designed to compromise devices, accounts or personal data.
We may remove or restrict accounts involved in such activities and may cooperate with law enforcement where appropriate.
10. Spam, Commercial Use and External Links
Fledge is intended for personal relationships, not for marketing or mass recruitment.
You must not:
- Send bulk or repetitive unsolicited messages or invitations (“spam”).
- Use Fledge mainly to advertise products, services, adult content, multi-level marketing (MLM) or “get-rich-quick” schemes.
- Post links that lead to scams, escort services, illegal content, malware or other unsafe sites.
Limited, non-intrusive references to your work, projects or social media may be acceptable, as long as:
- your primary purpose on Fledge is personal dating; and
- your content is not sexually explicit, deceptive or unsafe.
11. Off-Platform Conduct
In some cases, we may consider serious conduct that occurs outside Fledge if it is clearly connected to people you met on Fledge and creates a safety risk for our users.
For example, we may restrict or close your account if:
- there is credible information that you committed serious violence, sexual assault, trafficking or similar offenses against a person met through Fledge; or
- you repeatedly harass, stalk or threaten people you met on Fledge in other apps, websites or offline, where the connection to your Fledge interactions is clear.
We do not adjudicate criminal liability, but we may act to protect our community. We may also rely on information received from other reputable dating services or trust-and-safety industry partners (for example, where another platform has banned a user for serious safety violations) as one of several signals in our enforcement decisions.
12. Reporting, Blocking and Safety Tools
12.1. Blocking
- You can block another user if you do not want to communicate with them.
- Once blocked, that user will no longer be able to contact you from that account.
12.2. Reporting
Use the in-app report function if you see:
- harassment, stalking or threats;
- suspected scams, money requests or financial manipulation;
- escort/prostitution offers or sexual exploitation;
- possible minor involvement;
- content or behaviour that violates these Guidelines or the law.
Provide as much detail as you reasonably can (for example, which messages or behaviours concerned you).
12.3. How we handle reports
Our Safety & Moderation team reviews reports and may:
- take no action if the report is not substantiated;
- remove or edit content that violates our rules;
- issue warnings;
- limit certain features for the user;
- temporarily suspend or permanently ban accounts;
- escalate serious cases to Legal & Compliance and, where appropriate, to law enforcement.
We may not always be able to share details of our internal review, but we do use reports to protect the community and to improve our systems.
13. Enforcement and Consequences
Depending on the seriousness and frequency of violations, we may:
- Remove or modify specific content;
- Limit features (for example, messaging or visibility in recommendations);
- Temporarily suspend your account;
- Permanently close your account;
- Block your device or other technical identifiers where legally and technically feasible;
- Cooperate with law enforcement or other competent authorities, when required or permitted by law.
We apply zero tolerance to:
- child sexual abuse and exploitation;
- escort, prostitution and trafficking activities;
- serious romance/financial scams;
- credible threats to life or serious physical harm.
In such cases, we may permanently ban accounts without prior warning.
14. Moderation, Privacy and Data
To enforce these Guidelines and protect users, we may:
- use automated tools to detect certain types of content and behaviors (for example, high-risk keywords, spam patterns, some forms of explicit imagery);
- review content that has been flagged by users or by our systems;
- retain certain records (for example, logs, enforcement history, decisions) for a reasonable period for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance and quality control, in line with our Privacy Policy.
Access to such data is limited to authorized employees and contractors who need it for safety, legal, security or technical reasons. We apply technical and organizational measures to help protect this data.
15. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time, for example when:
- we add or change features in Fledge;
- laws or regulatory expectations change in the United States or other relevant jurisdictions;
- we identify new safety risks or patterns of abuse.
The updated version will be published on this page. If changes are material, we may also notify you in the app or by other reasonable means. By continuing to use Fledge after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Community Guidelines.
If you have questions about these Community Guidelines or want to report a serious safety concern, please contact us through the in-app support tools or at support@fledge.love.
